Here in the UK there have been events for Land Rover enthusiasts to attend since the 1950s. Since then, they have been many and various so, as Classic Land Rover, we have looked at our event for 2020 from a ‘classic’ angle to offer something with a nostalgic and vintage feel that draws on the heritage of Land Rover club events but fits current times.
We have booked a nice venue with facilities, lots of lovely camping space and a gentle on-site, off-road course. There’ll be free to enter line-ups of Land Rovers and prizes aplenty – not just for the shiniest either – alongside club stands, traditional activities like a dog show and a tug of war. The bar will be serving locally-brewed real ale, there will be talks and film shows, maintenance workshops, demonstrations, some traders and chances to meet friends and many of the magazine’s freelancers.
We are keeping the costs down and children are free so pile them, the dog and your tent in your old Land Rover and come along for a relaxed fun weekend that’s easy to access from north and south via the A1 and from the east and west via the A47.
