Explmore presents – www.returnofalegend.com – A special project dedicated to fulfilling a promise to complete a full restoration of a legendary 1974 Land Rover Series 3. The same Series 3 that took Alec and Jan Forman across 40,000 miles, through 29 countries, in Europe, Africa, and Asia back in 1977. Their book, Strangers Like Angels – With a Devil or Two to Boot, tells the story of an original overland adventure when they experienced the delights of rugged landscapes and the beautiful and diverse cultures of the world. On their 14 month journey, they used only maps and a compass to navigate across the Sahara (twice), explore the central route of Afghanistan, and park at the highest point of the highest road in the world, in Ladakh.
explmore, a community driven adventure lifestyle brand, was founded on this story and operates with a passion to inspire, encourage, and curate life changing adventure. By spreading its mantra to explore more of the world, engage with others, and embrace global cultures – explmore believes that this will ensure a greater understanding — for each other and our precious planet — enabling progression.
Please gather around explmore’s booth to learn more about this special project, purchase a book and meet Charles Forman, the proud son of Alec and Jan Forman and founder of explmore.

With over 20 years experience in retail management, Rob Elliott decided to go it alone and formed Boxed Drinks in 2017.
It all started with a rather impromptu purchase of a converted horse trailer which he stumbled upon when browsing on Ebay one night. The original vision was to serve just Prosecco, however after a few wedding fairs and enquiries he soon realised the need for a much wider product offering and flexibility.
Having formed great relationships with local Coffee Roaster 200 Degrees, the Coffee Box was born. Since 2017 Boxed Drinks has grown substantially and now offers a fleet of ‘mobile bars’ catering for all types of events no matter the size or location.
LEAFERS OVERLAND – ‘old skool’ camping featuring some interesting Land Rovers and their owners who are ready to chat about their experiences on the ‘road less travelled’…
This group is for the owners of leaf sprung Land Rovers who already use, or would like to use, their vehicles for overland and expedition travel, either half way across the world or half way across the country. Hopefully the contributions from the group will encourage others to embark an similar adventures…
Kay & Jon’s Land Rover – ‘Brutus’
Land Rover S2a 88” 1964 swb – ETU 377K / Military Reg No: 66 EK 90
First Used / Registered in 1963/4 Army FFR usage and no distinctions in any way sadly
We have owned it since 1995 when it was in need of lots of TLC – a little bit of Chassis Welding, plenty of fixing! – used regularly along with ongoing repairs etc – replacement block due to the original 3 bearing engine throwing a piston through the side of the block. Later 5 bearing ex-military until 2006 when it finally failed an MOT with major Chassis work required….
It stood idle for about 6 years… connected a new battery, tipped a bit of fuel down the carb – Started second time!!! – clutch was freed up and it sort of drove!
2012-14 Complete Rebuild with New Galvanised Chassis, Refurbed & Galvanised Bulkhead & Radiator Panel, new brake lines, master & slave cylinders etc, fully re-wired with ‘Fuses & Relays’. Rear custom racking & cage through the canvas tilt for a Roof-rack. It has been re-built for our needs and purposes – a comfortable ride with plenty of usb outlets, sound deadening for normal-ish conversation and maximising sensible storage within the confines of a small vehicle just in time for it’s 50th Anniversary Morocco Adventure – always an ongoing project to ensure it stays ‘fit-for-purpose’ we’re just happy that it gets us where we want to go!

In creating a more traditional Land Rover show, the event simply wouldn’t be complete without a Dog Show, so bring your dog along in the Land Rover and you may leave as a prizewinner. The Dog Show will be open to all breeds, all ages, all types from pedigree champions, to farm dogs to sit in front of the fire pets. This is Boris our company mascot packed with the family into the back of the Land Rover ready for a camping trip.
We won’t charge for dogs, however as we are on a working farm, they must be kept on a lead at all times.
Judging the Dogs, we have Jacqueline Straubinger who has an experienced knowledge of dogs, in particular Terriers. She is a full time committee member of The Wire Fox Terrier Association and has bred and shown Wires to championship standard, including Crufts. She grew up in a world of dogs with her father’s pack of Rohodesian Ridgebacks and her mother’s Cocker Spaniels. Her aunt was the famous Vera Fitzpatrick who was the president of The National Keeshund Club, an international show judge and breeder of Keeshunds. Her cousin, Brenda Strivens, was founder of The Southern West Highland White Terrier Club, also an international judge and breeder of Terriers. Jacqueline has judged all breed dogs in Rutland, Northampton and Essex.
For his second talk, Toby Savage will focus on the resurrection of Pete Wilford’s Trials Land Rover, which has featured in recent issues of Classic Land Rover magazine. Dragging the famous 1970s trials Land Rover out of a field and getting it back into competition.
